The Minister of Higher Education and Science of the Russian Federation Valery Falkov signed an order appointing the new rector of the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia Oleg Aleksandrovich Yastrebov. Oleg Aleksandrovich’s candidacy was approved by the RUDN University Supervisory Board in February 2020.
Oleg Aleksandrovich Yastrebov is a Doctor of Law, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Head of the Department of Administrative and Financial Law, Deputy Chairman of the Expert Council of the Higher Attestation Commission on Law, Vice President of the Association of Legal Education of the Russian Federation, member of the Higher Qualification Collegium of Judges of the Russian Federation. Since 2014, he has headed the RUDN University Law Institute. During this time, the minimum passing score for the Unified State Exam for budget places has increased
from 240 to 299 points, financial indicators have increased 4 times, the number of international partners has increased from 20 to 130, including those from the list of the top 500 universities in the world. For the last 3 years, the RUDN Law Institute has been among the top five law schools in Russia. Advanced research has emerged in the field of forensic science, financial monitoring, competition law, and space law.
