Gurov Sergey Yurievich
Gurov Sergey Yuryevich, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages, Melitopol State University. Teaching experience of over 20 years.
Teaches the following disciplines: «Legal English», «English Lexicology», «Workshop on the Culture of Speech Communication in English», «Intercultural Business Communication». Scientific and pedagogical interests include linguistic analysis of text in Russian and English, problems of translation and intercultural communication. Published over 50 scientific papers, is the author of the textbook «Lexicology of the English Language» (Melitopol, 2023).
Graduated from Melitopol State Pedagogical University, specializing in music teacher, methodologist in educational work, English language and literature in 2000. In 2008, he defended his PhD thesis at Mykhailo Kotsiubynsky Vinnytsia State University (thesis topic was «Formation of artistic taste in future music teachers in the process of professional training») and received a candidate of pedagogical sciences degree. He received the title of associate professor in 2011. In 2021, he defended his doctoral thesis at Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University (Formation of spiritual and moral values of students of humanitarian specialties by means of fiction) and received a doctor of pedagogical sciences degree. He received the title of professor in 2024.
Since 01.10.2006, he worked at the Melitopol State Pedagogical University,
Since 28.03.2013, Associate Professor of the Department of English Philology;
since 01.10.2019, he took the position of head of the Department of Methods of Teaching Germanic Languages; from 05/27/2022 Head of the Department of Philology at Melitopol State University;
from 09/01/2023 to the present, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages at Melitopol State University.
