In 1999, he defended his Cand. of Law degree thesis on the topic: «Legal regulation of financing of environmental protection measures», in 2008-his doctoral dissertation on: «Environmental and legal foundations of sustainable development».
The range of scientific interests of Vershilo N. D. is quite wide, including public administration in the field of environmental protection and rational use of natural resources, environmental and legal measures to ensure sustainable development, etc. He is the author of more than 60 works, including 3 monographs «Legal regulation of financing of environmental protection measures» (Saratov, 2000); «Legal protection of the environment and sustainable development» (Saratov, 2005); «Environmental and legal foundations of sustainable development» (Moscow, 2008).
