The Ophthalmologist magazine has published a list of the world’s best ophthalmologists of 2019 in various nominations. The list was formed on the basis of a survey of ophthalmologists from different countries. This year, a record number of nominations were registered in the categories: «champions of change», «inventors», «new leaders», «mentors» and «pioneers of surgery». Each nomination recognizes a person who has had a significant impact on the development of ophthalmology, whether through philanthropic initiatives or their ongoing commitment to innovation.
Russian ophthalmic surgeon, professor, member of the Editorial Board of the magazine «Public Law Today» Boris Eduardovich Malyugin has been awarded the title of the best surgeon-innovator in the world for the second year in a row.
